Awards and Recognitions

Members of the Epigenetics and Stem Cell Biology Laboratory have been recognized for their outstanding science and contributions to the NIEHS and the NIH with a number of awards.  A sample of recent recognitions include the following:

Amanda E Conway

Dr. Amanda Conway

Dr. Amanda Conway, a Postdoctoral IRTA Fellow in Dr. Raja Jothi’s group, has won a prestigious NIGMS PRAT Fellowship (2014 - 2017).

Awards For Scientific Presentations

Several members of ESCBL have been recognized within NIEHS for their scientific presentations within NIEHS.

A number of post-doctoral fellows in ESCBL have earned the very competitive NIH Fellows Awards for Research Excellence (FARE) in the last few years:

  • 2014 – Senthilkumar Cinghu, mentored by Raja Jothi, and George Fromm, mentored by Karen Adelman.
  • 2015 – Andrew Oldfield, Penyi Yang, and Senthilkumar Cinghu, all mentored by Raja Jothi.

NIEHS Director's Awards of Merit

Several ESCBL members were recognized with NIEHS Director’s Awards of Merit for their participation in groups that provided sustained support of key research efforts.

Papers of the Month

Researchers from within NIEHS (Division of Intramural Research) publish many peer-reviewed articles in a variety of journals each year. The NIEHS highlights some of these publications and their importance to the advancement of science by choosing a select few each month as one of the Papers of the Month. Members of ESCBL were recognized in this way multiple times over the last few years, and are listed below.
