National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Worker Training Program Supplement Kickoff Meeting: Promoting Health, Safety, and Recovery Training Following Declared Disasters in 2022. Septemeber 28-29, 2023 in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Purpose of the Meeting

Nine WTP grant recipients received supplemental funds from the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023. The supplemental funding will provide support to deliver health and safety training to U.S. populations impacted by major disasters declared in 2022. The September 2023 WTP Disaster Supplements Kickoff Meeting provided an opportunity for grant recipients to share their training plans, ideas, and challenges with colleagues. Grant recipients are using targeted strategies to reach and train workers, day laborers, and volunteers in disaster-impacted areas, especially those in vulnerable or marginalized communities.
