Health Scientist

Brandy Beverly, Ph.D., is a health scientist with the Integrative Health Assessment Branch in the Division of Translational Toxicology (DTT) at NIEHS. Beverly chairs DTT’s Cardiovascular Health Effects Innovation Program Management Team. Her areas of expertise include systematic literature evaluations and developing, evaluating, and promoting harmonization of systematic review methods, particularly in the areas of evidence integration. Beverly conducts evaluations about the effects of environmental exposures on cardiovascular-related outcomes, including atherosclerosis and high blood pressure during pregnancy.

Beverly earned her Ph.D. in molecular medicine from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where she investigated changes in hormonal function and blood flow during pregnancy. She received her postdoctoral training in reproductive and developmental toxicology at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Before joining IHAB, Beverly worked in the Integrated Risk and Information Systems (IRIS) Program, using her reproductive and developmental toxicology expertise to draft IRIS assessments.
