The Pediatric and Reproductive Environmental Health Scholars (PREHS) program, established in 2021, trains pediatric healthcare providers, obstetricians and gynecologists, and other healthcare professionals to address environmental health issues.
In partnership with the Pediatric and Environmental Health Specialty Units (PEHSUs), the PREHS program provides research experiences that weave together clinical practice in environmental health, community-level engagement, and teaching. Scholars will learn about the array of interactions — biological, psychological, social, and cultural — that occur between children, pregnant women, and new mothers and their environment.
The goal is to create a network of healthcare professionals recognized in their field for tackling the complexities of pediatric and reproductive environmental health.
