The Nurse’s Health Study 3 (NHS3) is an open, prospective, web-based cohort currently enrolling female and male nurses and student nurses from the United States and Canada.

Cohort Maintenance & Enrichment Activities:
Expanding study operations by accelerating enrollment, increasing the proportion of minority and male participants, and expanding the geographic regions represented. Broadening the scope of research and investigating multiple environmental exposures. Developing and maintaining geographically linked exposure data, such as air pollution, temperature, built environment, green space, and noise, using geographic information systems. Modernizing cohort communications and outreach materials.

Data Management & Sharing Activities:
Establishing an environmental sample repository of air, water, and dust samples. Maintaining data management and quality control systems. Expanding web-based mobile technologies to obtain dynamic, high-resolution measures of geographically linked environmental exposures. Assessing spatial uncertainty and measurement error. Developing protocols for managing, storing, integrating, analyzing, and sharing information from multiple spatial and temporal resolutions.

Data Access:
Procedures for submitting a proposal to use data or specimens can be found on the NHS3 webpage.
