NIEHS Grant: R13ES029388

Donald Anderson, Ph.D.

This international conference is the only major scientific conference focused on the research and management of harmful algae events. Harmful algal blooms (HABs) occur in marine and freshwater ecosystems and can cause major problems for human health with impacts on tourism, shipping, desalination, and other societal sectors. The conference theme is “From Ecosystems to Socio-ecosystems.” Scientists and water managers from around the globe will gather to share recent scientific advances and impacts of harmful algae and foster international collaborations to prevent and reduce the harmful effects of HABs.
