Information professionals provide library services of the highest caliber that meet expressed and anticipated needs of the research and administrative staff, especially through innovative technological means.

About the Library

The NIEHS Library manages information and knowledge to advance environmental health. The library does this by:

Providing access to information and educating users in how to access that information.
Creating and maintaining information and knowledge systems using state-of-the-art technology.
Participating in the development of information and knowledge management policies.

The NIEHS Library is open to the public by appointment.

Library Visitor Information

As a government institution, the NIEHS Library is open to members of the public who need to use the library's resources for their professional research. Appointments are required, please contact Library Manager (see contact info below).

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (Closed on federal holidays.)

Resource Collection

Visitors are able to use the books and journals within the library. Access to computer-based resources may be restricted.

Photocopying

Visitors may make photocopies free of charge. Please note that non-NIEHS users are restricted to making copies of only five articles or chapters per day.
