The target candidates are outstanding clinical scientists who are actively engaged in patient-oriented research and who are within 15 years of their specialty training. The award provides up to five years of support of up to 50% of the investigator’s effort to enable the candidate to devote this time to a period of intensive research focus to enhance their clinical research career and to mentor the next generation of patient-oriented researchers.
