Data Management and Sharing Plan

New Data Management and Sharing Policy

On January 25, 2023, NIH had implemented a new Data Management and Sharing Policy that requires NIH-funded investigators to write and comply with Data Management and Sharing Plan. Learn more about NIH data policies at the NIH Scientific Data Sharing webpage, as well as Scientific Data at NIEHS.

Here is a link to the list of repositories for scientific data sharing.

NIEHS Standard Data Management and Sharing Plans document (436KB) summarizes NIEHS recommendations for writing Data Management and Sharing plans for the most common data types generated by the NIEHS intramural investigators as of January 2023. Specifically, the data types addressed include:

  • Cryo-EM
  • Mass Spectrometry
  • Molecular Dynamics Simulations
  • NMR
  • X-ray Crystallography
  • Neurobehavioral Studies
  • Sequencing and Microarrays
  • Flow Cytometry
  • Animal Imaging
  • Microscopy Imaging
  • Biostatistics

NIEHS investigators can reference this document in their DMS plans.

We expect that this document will be expanded and improved in the future and the updated version will be posted on this website.
