Research Summary
John House, Ph.D., is a staff scientist in the Biostatistics and Computational Biology Branch who conducts research in the exposures and Omics space. John is an interdisciplinary scientist with experience in statistics, computational biology, epidemiology and molecular biology who maintains active collaborations with investigators across the country. The overarching theme of John’s research is to understanding and characterize how human health and disease susceptibility are affected by the intersection of environmental exposures and inter-individual variation in the Omics space.
A current research focus is mapping exposure and genetic determinants of disease in the Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD) clinical trial and in the Personalized Environmental Gene Study (PEGS - formally Environmental Polymorphisms Registry). This work includes development of new pipelines for the analysis and visualization of the ever-increasing amount of biological data being generated with DNA/RNA sequencing, epigenetic characterization, proteomics, and metabolomics.
