PEPH 2020 | Past, Present, and Future

Description: Ten years after the inaugural PEPH Meeting, we brought the network together to reflect on the past, discuss the present, and consider future opportunities. In addition to learning about strategies and approaches used to improve environmental public health, the PEPH2020 meeting was an occasion to inform a new 10-year vision for the PEPH program in the context of the NIEHS Strategic Plan and the new Translational Research Framework.

Description: The purpose of the Partnerships for Environmental Public Health (PEPH) 2018 meeting was to enable meaningful dialog on the important topic of reporting back research results. Grantees across the PEPH Network are dealing with the various levels and issues related to returning research results, such as ethical, cultural, social and scientific considerations.
PEPH 2017 | Engaging Diverse Partners: Strategies to Address Environmental Public Health

Description: The purpose of the PEPH meeting was to focus on successful approaches for engaging with diverse partners. These included: Community-based and Environmental Justice Organizations, Educators, Healthcare Professionals, Tribal Communities, Decision Makers, and Workers. The meeting built off conversations started during the NIEHS Environmental Health Science FEST on this topic.
PEPH 2014 | Communication Research in Environmental Health Sciences – Environmental Health Literacy

Description: The 2014 PEPH meeting focused on Environmental Health Literacy (EHL). We chose this topic to capitalize on the fact that EHL is coalescing as a distinct field within health education and risk communication, and is a term that researchers and federal agencies are increasingly using to denote literacy initiatives related to environmental health sciences research.
PEPH 2013 | Environmental Health Disparities & Environmental Justice Meeting

Description: On July 29-31, 2013 the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) in partnership with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Minority Health (OMH), and Indian Health Service (IHS) hosted a meeting focused on identifying priorities for action to address environmental health disparities (EHD) and environmental justice (EJ). This meeting brought together researchers, community residents, healthcare professionals, and federal partners committed to addressing EHD and EJ, in particular the grantees funded by NIEHS, EPA, NIMHD, CDC, OMH, and IHS.
