Much of the work carried out by DTT is in support of the National Toxicology Program (NTP), an interagency partnership of the Food and Drug Administration, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, and NIEHS.
The NIEHS Division of Translational Toxicology Office of Administrative and Business Services (OABS) serves as the focal point for administrative and business support for all offices and branches in the division.
The Office provides support to the DTT scientific mission and community in four key administrative areas, which are crucial to the smooth and efficient operation of DTT.
- Personnel
- Travel
- Budget
- Procurement
Other areas include property, records management, space, large meeting logistics, and special projects.
The Office also coordinates special projects across the division and provides administrative management for DTT trainees and other temporary, non-staff appointments such as Special Volunteers and Guest Researchers. Training opportunities include both laboratory-based research projects and non-laboratory fellowships that span DTT’s strategic areas of focus or research and capabilities development. The Office works closely with the NIEHS Office of Fellows Career Development to ensure that fellows in all DTT’s training programs have an outstanding experience.
The Budget and Procurement Group (BPG) provides end to end resource management services for DTT. These services include budget formulation, budget execution and providing financial data for strategic decisions. The BPG provides funding for critical research contracts, as well as the procurement of laboratory supplies, equipment, and services. The BPG also ensures the funding of salaries and benefits for all DTT’s employees. Finally, the BPG is a key player in the management of our Interagency Agreement Portfolio, ensuring the responsible transfer of funds between the NIEHS and our Government partners.
The Personnel Management Group (PMG) supports all Title 5 and Title 42 recruitment and staffing activities for DTT. Additionally, PMG coordinates the Committees on Promotion II (COP II), facilitating peer reviews for DTT scientists.
The Office of Administrative and Business Services (OABS) staff publish findings in peer-reviewed scientific literature. Staff publications can be viewed on the webpage.
