About the Platform

Bile acids form a central circuit in the molecular communication network between host and microbial metabolic systems. Understanding and characterizing disease associated shifts in the balance of this molecular family allows researchers to gain insights into the nature and degree of systemic metabolic shifts from homeostasis.

Our bile acid methodology allows for quantification of both primary and secondary bile acids, including both conjugated and free forms of each bile acid molecule. In addition, we can separate many of the bile acid isomers to deliver an accurate and detailed picture of this network within our collaborators’ models.
