Sponsored Travel

As sponsored travel invitations are received in the NIEHS Ethics Office, a conflict analysis of each employee's ethics file is conducted to ensure no personal conflict of interest (COI) is present between the employee and the sponsoring organization. The conflict analysis consists of reviewing applicable documents that the employee may have on file such as: financial disclosure reports, awards, outside activities, official duty documents, etc. After reviewing the applicable documents, a COI Ethics Office Recommendation memo is prepared and emailed to the traveler and their Administrative Officer. A copy of the COI memo and sponsored invitation is kept in the NIEHS Ethics Office. Click on the image below to see what the recommendation memo contains.
