The Operations and Security Branch supports the NIEHS mission by providing the following services:
- A secure environment for employees, visitors and property
- Emergency and crisis planning, preparedness and response
- Maintaining select lab equipment and fabricating specialty research devices
- Leading the institute's energy and water conservation programs
