About the IMACS Mentorship Program

Mission Statement

The IMACS Mentorship Program provides the platform to connect early-career myositis researchers and clinicians with mentors that are established in the field to facilitate career development and encourage continuing contributions in support of improved understanding of myositis and myositis treatment options.

Expectations of Members in the Mentorship Program

The IMACS Mentorship program connects senior and junior professionals in the field of myositis for a two-year period. Mentors and Mentees are strongly encouraged to meet 2-4 times per year with their mentee in person and/or by phone to work together on career development and projects. Mentors and mentees must adhere to the code of ethics.

Mentor Requirements and Instructions

To become a Mentor, a member must meet ALL the following requirements:

  • Full Membership to IMACS
  • Must be at least 5 years out from your post-doctoral research fellowship or clinical research training

Mentee Requirements and Instructions

To become a Mentee, a member must meet ONE of the following requirements:

  • Full Membership to IMACS & less than 10 years out from your post-doctoral research fellowship or clinical research training
  • Associate Membership to IMACS with a professional role of Clinical Trainee or Research Trainee
