Program Description

Expanding Genome Integrity Assays to Population Studies

NIEHS and the National Cancer Institute initiated the program on Expanding Genome Integrity Assays to Population Studies in 2017. The genome integrity assays that are being developed in this program measure an individual’s capacity to repair damage to their DNA from environmental agents. Information on an individual’s capacity to remove or repair damage can be used in human studies to ultimately improve disease prevention and treatment.
