Job Description
Position Overview:
The NIEHS Mass Spectrometry Research Center (MSRC) is seeking a postdoctoral fellow in LC-MS–based small molecule analysis for biomedical research. This position offers a unique opportunity to perform advanced liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry workflows using high-resolution and quantitative platforms while collaborating with investigators across a wide range of scientific disciplines. In addition to supporting collaborative projects, the fellow will pursue independent, mentored research focused on the development, optimization, and application of metabolomics and lipidomics methods, including both untargeted discovery and targeted quantitative analyses. The position also provides training in experimental design, sample preparation, data processing, and statistical interpretation, as well as hands-on experience with multiple LC-MS platforms and exposure to core facility operations, project management, and collaborative research models.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, biology, or a related field; prior experience in mass spectrometry is preferred.
Benefits:
The appointment is for an initial term of 1–2 years and may be renewed for up to 5 years, with competitive salary and benefits.
How to apply:
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter describing their research interests and experience, a curriculum vitae, and contact information for three references to
Alan K. Jarmusch, Ph.D. ([email protected]) and/or Jason G. Williams, Ph.D. ([email protected])
