A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the DNA Replication Fidelity Group at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), National Institutes of Health (NIH). We use structural, biochemical, genetic and genomic approaches to investigate mechanisms that determine eukaryotic nuclear DNA replication fidelity and its connections to diseases and to evolution.
The successful candidates can choose to undertake one or more exciting projects, including but not limited to a current emphasis on Okazaki fragment maturation, DNA mismatch repair, and ribonucleotide incorporation during replication and its repair, and the consequences of failure of these transactions on mutagenesis and diseases.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. degree in biological sciences or a related discipline within the last 5 years, with a strong background in structural biology, protein biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics and/or genomics. Excellent communications skills and the ability to work well with other group members are essential.
To Apply:
Please email the following to Thomas A. Kunkel, Ph.D.
- Curriculum vitae
- One-page statement of research interests
