The Neurobehavioral Core Facility and the Fabrication and Repair Studio at the National Institute of Environmental Health Science are recruiting for a bioengineering Post-baccalaureate position. This position would interface with scientists at NIEHS to develop novel, cutting-edge tools utilizing an advanced array of modern engineering tools including additive manufacturing, CNC machining and laser cutters.The Fabrication and Repair Studio is a recently created resource for NIEHS that combines traditional machine shop functions with a modern “maker space” mentality.

The ideal candidate will have a background in bioengineering including familiarity with fabrication techniques, computer aided design, basic electronics and programming. The position will assist the Fabrication and Repair studio with day-to-day operations, manage multiple fabrication projects and assist with implementation and maintenance of our fabrication equipment, which includes 3D printers, CNC machines and laser cutters. Training in the Intramural Research program provides exceptional opportunities for career development and a competitive salary. Stipend/Benefits:

The Post-baccalaureate training program funds fellowships at the NIEHS for two years and potentially extendable to a third year. Stipends are determined by the amount of previous experience currently starting at $41,700. Medical insurance is provided.

To be eligible for Post-baccalaureate training at NIEHS, applicants must have completed their undergraduate degree prior to starting.
