Racism, health inequities, climate change, and environmental justice were among the topics discussed at the annual meeting of the NIEHS Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) Core Centers, which was held in July at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. The meeting was the first since 2019 to offer an in-person option. Nearly 300 people attended the hybrid event.

“The scientific community needs time and space to come together to learn and support each other. The fact that we could finally do that in person was fantastic,” said Robert Wright, M.D., who directs the EHS Core Center at Mount Sinai.
