The NIH Climate Change and Health Initiative (CCHI) launched a new website in July, signifying the growth and importance of this NIH-wide effort to address the impacts of climate change on human health. CCHI is a cross-cutting program designed to stimulate research to reduce health threats from climate change across the lifespan and to build health resilience in individuals, communities, and nations around the world, especially among those at highest risk. The initiative is chaired by NIEHS Director Rick Woychik, Ph.D. The new website houses information on CCHI activities related to community engagement, a research community of practice, disaster response, training and capacity building, and much more.
Website visitors can also learn about unique CCHI efforts such as the:
- NIH Climate and Health Scholars Program
- NIH Intramural Targeted Climate Change and Health Program
- NIH Climate Change and Health Seminar Series
The new CCHI website posts NIH climate change and health funding opportunities, as well as details on all NIH-funded climate and health research projects. To explore the website and more of its resources, please visit The NIH Climate Change and Health Initiative.
