Do you know what’s in your cleaning supplies, automotive and home improvement products, garden supplies, and craft or hobby supplies? Exposure to the ingredients in many household chemicals can be hazardous to your health. In this podcast, Dr. Paul Blanc, author of How Everyday Products Make People Sick, discusses the health impacts of some common household chemicals and how to protect your family.  


Paul Blanc , M.D., M.S.P.H.

Paul Blanc, M.D., M.S.P.H., is a professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco Where he serves as Chief of the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Blanc is board certified in internal medicine, occupational medicine, and medical toxicology.  Blanc first became interested in health and the environment while working towards a BA degree from Goddard College in Plainfield Vermont. He continued his training at the Harvard School of Public Health and the Albert Einstein School of Medicine. He has authored numerous scholarly publications on the subject of toxic exposures and illness and is author of How Everyday Products Make People Sick: Toxins at Home and in the Workplace (University of California Press), which was released in an updated and expanded edition in 2009.
