2015 Strategic Planning

Superfund Research Program

2015 – 2020 Strategic Plan

In 2015, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Superfund Hazardous Substance Research and Training Program (Superfund Research Program or SRP) engaged stakeholders from academia, environmental health agencies, and not-for-profit organizations to review and refine, as needed, the SRP 2010 Strategic Plan. The resulting 2015 document (1MB) reaffirms SRP's commitment to the objectives presented in the 2010 Strategic Plan. The refinements presented in this document strengthen the Program's approach to improving human health and the environment through reducing or eliminating the negative impacts of exposure to hazardous substances from hazardous waste sites.

Summary of 2010 – 2015 Strategic Plan

In response to recommendations from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences' Superfund Research Program (SRP) 2009 External Advisory Panel, the Program developed a strategic plan to provide direction to achieve its mandates described in SARA Section 311(a) (95KB).

SRP program staff have finalized the Strategic Plan (881KB). The draft was posted in the Federal Register for comments, submitted to the 2009 External Advisory Panel for review, and presented at the September 2010 NAEHS Council meeting.
