Network of WHO Collaborating Centres for Children’s Environmental Health
The primary focus of the WHO Collaborating Center for Environmental Hazards to Children’s Health (CCEH-CH) is children’s environmental health research, education and advocacy. Currently, the Center is developing programs and partnerships focused on building capacities in environmental health and training of health care workers in Portuguese-speaking countries. With a long experience researching environmental aspects of pediatric pulmonology, the Center is currently broadening the scope of its activities, comprising also other areas of CEH, such as e-waste, heavy metals and pesticides.
As a hub in an international network for children’s environmental health, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul is:
- Collaborating with WHO in the development and strengthening of the field of children’s environmental health
- Assisting PAHO/WHO in improving data coverage and capacity-building in children's environmental health in Brazil
