Health Effects and Geochemistry of Arsenic and Manganese screen capture

GEO-6 North America

The new Global Environmental Outlook (GEO-6) Regional Assessment for North America report by the United Nations Environment Programme highlights a mapper from the Columbia University Superfund Research Program (SRP) Online Mapping Project.

The National Priorities List Superfund Footprint: Site, Population, and Environmental Characteristics Mapper helps researchers, regulators, and the general public better visualize and understand the characteristics of vulnerable populations, built and natural features, and environmental exposures near National Priorities List Superfund sites. The report highlighted the tool’s application for hazardous waste research and communities concerned about Superfund sites.

In addition to featuring the tool, the Columbia SRP Research translation Core leader, Sandra Baptista, was a contributing author to the new report.
