Black Cohosh Study Black Cohosh is an herbal supplement that is taken by some women to treat hot flashes, cramps, or other related symptoms. Researchers are studying the health effects of black cohosh in women who have been taking the supplement for at least 3 months. Researchers are investigating whether black cohosh may affect folate and B12 levels, anemia, and metabolomics profiles. They are also investigating whether black cohosh induces genetic changes.
