Much of the work carried out by DTT is in support of the National Toxicology Program (NTP), an interagency partnership of the Food and Drug Administration, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, and NIEHS.

Kelly A. Shipkowski, Ph.D., D.A.B.T., is a Health Science Evaluator in the Office of Program Operations in the Division of Translational Toxicology (DTT). Shipkowski is training to be a Contract Officer’s Representative to assist with the administration and monitoring of contracts for NTP scientific literature evaluations and toxicology and carcinogenicity studies. She also supports the design, conduct, interpretation, and reporting of studies evaluating the toxicity and carcinogenicity of chemicals of human health concern. Additionally, she serves as a project leader for NTP studies of metals and other potentially hazardous environmental exposures.

Prior to joining DTT, Shipkowski worked as a Lead Toxicologist at ICF, a global consulting firm. She served as the technical lead for ICF’s development of technical and toxicity reports for NTP, while also providing toxicology support for systematic review projects assessing the human health effects of chemicals of concern.

Shipkowski received a B.S. in both biology and chemistry from Methodist University in 2010 and a Ph.D. in toxicology from North Carolina State University in 2015. Following completion of her Ph.D. she worked as an intramural research training award (IRTA) postdoctoral fellow at DTT.
