From March 7-9, 2006, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Worker Education and Training Program (WETP) convened its Spring Awardee Meeting and Technical Workshop in Birmingham, Alabama. Over the three days, audience members participated in panel sessions, breakout sessions, program updates, and discussion periods. The conference focused on health and safety training in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina as well as the WETP core mission and how the program impacts the worker safety and health community in a variety of situations.
