Environmental exposures and health risks for people

This webinar was held on May 25th 2010. It featured 3 presenters who worked on various aspects of the BP oil spill. Their presentations are available below.

The first presenter, Mr. Chip Hughes (1MB) , is the director of the Worker Education Training Program at NIEHS. Mr. Hughes gave a brief synopsis describing what happened and what is being done, then talked about WETP's response and training efforts.

Dr. Beverly Wright (4MB) is the director of the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice at Dillard University in New Orleans. She presented from the perspective of a WETP grantee working with communities and shared some insights from her discussions with community members.

Dr. Jonathan Ward (337KB) is the Director of the Division of Environmental Toxicology and a Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch . He talked about community concerns expressed at community forums regarding the impact of the spill.

These three presentations highlighted potential opportunities for the NIEHS PEPH community to work together to address the environmental public health issues of concern.
