Vicki Sutherland, Ph.D., is a scientist in the Toxicology Branch of the National Toxicology Program. She has a Ph.D. in Physiology, with a focus in neuroscience, from the University of Arizona and worked in drug safety in pharmaceutical field as a Reproductive Toxicologist before joining the NTP. She serves as a study scientist for chemicals selected for toxicity and carcinogenicity evaluation by the NTP and her primary job function is to design and evaluate studies to help determine if chemicals are hazardous to us. These studies include in vitro and in vivo evaluation of toxicity, toxicokinetics, absorption, disposition, metabolism, and excretion of the chemical.
