As a contract specialist at NIEHS, Ndidi Okeagu performs a variety of contract work that deals with groundbreaking research. Her primary responsibilities include applying knowledge of contract principles, laws, statutes, Executive Orders, regulations and procedures applicable to pre-award and/or post award actions.
Okeagu has a B.A. degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Juris Doctorate from Michigan State University, where she was awarded with a full tuition scholarship. Prior to beginning her federal career, Okeagu worked as a summer fellow at Yale Legal Services Organization. Okeagu previously worked as a contract specialist for the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) in Bethesda, Maryland, where she was recognized for her contributions to the launch of the second phase of a landmark tobacco epidemiology study.
