The annual NIEHS Biomedical Career Symposium (formerly the NIEHS Biomedical Career Fair), is one of the largest assemblies of biomedical organizations and young scientists in Research Triangle Park, NC. Targeting postdoctoral fellows and graduate students, the Career Symposium provides young scientists with an opportunity to explore a myriad of career options and create a contact network as they plan for their future careers in the biomedical sciences. The symposium features up to 10 workshops targeting needed professional skills in addition to a range of career panels, featuring a wide variety of career path options available to PhD-holders. The event also features up to 100 CV/resume review sessions, along with time for networking with company representatives in the afternoon.

Trainees Explore Career Options at 20th Annual NIEHS Symposium 

Hundreds of attendees enjoyed networking and learning about their career options this year at the 20th Annual NIEHS Biomedical Career Symposium. Nearly 400 people registered for the April 21 event at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which shares a campus with NIEHS. Helen Chin, Ph.D. and Katie Glenn, Ph.D., both postdoctoral fellows at NIEHS, co-chaired the planning committee.
