Awardee Meeting Details

The WETP Awardee Meeting was held on Wednesday, April 9th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Westin Los Angeles Airport in Los Angeles, CA. Unlike previous years, the Awardee Meeting took place after the Workshop.

Purpose of the Awardee Meeting
The semi-annual WETP Awardee Meeting brought awardees together to provide program updates, exchange information regarding training and discover new areas of interest to awardees.

UCLA-LOSH/WETP Workshop Details

The UCLA-LOSH Workshop, sponsored in conjunction with WETP, was held on Tuesday, April 8th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This workshop also took place at The Westin Los Angeles Airport.

Purpose and Scope of the Workshop
The workshop focused primarily on two recently issued Executive Orders, Improving Chemical Facility Safety and Security and Preparing the United States for the Impacts of Climate Change, and the role WETP awardees might play in each Executive Order. Highlighted issues included the LOHP Refinery Safety Report(651KB) to the California Governor's Interagency Task Force on Refinery Safety, the Federal Agencies report on the Chemical Facility EO and what these reports mean for emergency responders and plant workers. This one day workshop preceded the WETP Awardee Meeting and Clearinghouse Advisory Board Meeting.

Disaster Research Response Exercise Details

The Disaster Research Response Exercise was an optional activity that was held on Monday, April 7th from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. More information about the exercise can be found on the Disaster Exercise page.
