PCR Analyzer Software
PCR Analyzer Main Screen
The PCR Analyzer Main Screen is used to select the model type and initial values for the analysis.
The window is divided into 3 panels as follows:
- Initial values panel (upper left )
This panel provides the user with radio buttons for selecting the model type (basic or expanded).
Once the desired model type is specified, enter the initial PCR parameters in the textboxes provided.
Better estimates for the initial parameters may decrease the number of cycles needed to get the optimized solution.
- Results panel (right side)
This panel displays a summary of the user inputs and then displays the optimization results as they are calculated.
- Button panel (lower left)
This panel displays buttons to modify the initial inputs and to start the analysis.
The buttons are as follows:
- Modify initial inputs: the initial input window is re-displayed to allow changing the input values.
- Start processing: begins the optimization routines.
When the optimization starts, a second window will appear with a button for stopping the optimization.
(Note: After the Stop button is clicked, the current optimization cycle will still finish. This may take several seconds up to a minute.)
- Help: displays this help screen.
In addition to the above, the following menu items are available:
-
File - View Results is used to view graphs of the observed vs predicted results for the optimized solution.
-
File - View Optimization Results is used to view the optimization results file.
The program used to view the file will be the one associated with the file extension.
For example, a "txt" file will be opened by a text editor while a "xls" file will be opened by a spreadsheet program.
-
File - View Predicted vs Observed Results is used to view the predicted vs observed results file.
This is the same data that is shown graphically in the File - View Results menu option.
The program used to view the file will be the one associated with the file extension.
-
Help - About PCR Analyzer brings up the help screen that describes the algorithm in detail.
-
Help - Contents provides a shortcut to the four main help screens.
