This page provides information on current and upcoming SRP funding opportunities, as well as basic information for those interested in applying for SRP grants.

SRP Funding Opportunity Webinar

On January 17, 2012 the SRP held a webinar to provide information about the current SRP funding opportunities. The webinar archive is now available on the CLU-IN webpage  . There were more questions submitted than presenters had time to answer during the webinar. These questions have been compiled and answered, and are available in the questions and answers (389KB) document.

Multiproject Center Grants (P42)

Multiproject Center Grants (P42) - Grants made under the SRP will be for coordinated, multiproject, multi and interdisciplinary Centers. SRP Center grants will support problem-based, solution-oriented research Centers that consist of multiple, integrated projects representing both the biomedical and non-biomedical disciplines; as well as cores tasked with administrative, community engagement, research translation, research support, and training functions. Grant awards are made in response to request for applications (RFA). The 2011 Request for Applications (RFA) was released on October 13, 2011 and applications will be due on April 10, 2012.

Individual Research Grants (R01)

Individual Research Grants (R01) -The Individual Research Project Program is designed to address specific issues that complement the multiproject research programs, meet high priority research needs of the national Superfund Program or tackle issues of emerging concern. Grants awarded under this mechanism will be for discrete, single projects. Grant applications are solicited and awards made in response to this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA). The current FOA was released on November 4, 2010 and closed February 17, 2011.

Small Business Innovation Research / Small Business Technology Transfer Research (SBIR / STTR) Grants (R43 / R41)

Hazardous Substances Detection and Remediation Program - These grants are awarded to foster the commercialization of technologies, products and devices developed by the SRP and others. Application receipt dates are April 5, August 5 and December 5. If interested in applying, please contact Heather Henry, (919) 541-5330.

Superfund Research Program Support for Conferences and Scientific Meetings (R13) - Effective immediately, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Superfund Research Program (SRP) is announcing participation in PA-10-071 "NIH Support for Conferences and Scientific Meetings (Parent R13/U13)   ."
