Superfund Research Program

The Superfund Research Program (SRP) is a network of university grants that are designed to seek solutions to the complex health and environmental issues associated with the nation's hazardous waste sites. The research conducted by the SRP is a coordinated effort with the Environmental Protection Agency, which is the federal entity charged with cleaning up the worst hazardous waste sites in the country.

The SRP is federally funded and administered by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, an institute of the National Institutes of Health (http://www.nih.gov/)

SRP Funding Opportunities

The Request for Applications for the Multiproject Center Grant (P42) was released October 13, 2011. The application deadline is April 10, 2012.

Grants made under the SRP will be for coordinated, multiproject, multi and interdisciplinary Centers. SRP Center grants will support problem-based, solution-oriented research Centers that consist of multiple, integrated projects representing both the biomedical and non-biomedical disciplines; as well as cores tasked with administrative, community engagement, research translation, research support, and training functions. Grant awards are made in response to request for applications (RFA).

On January 17, 2012 the SRP held a webinar to provide information about the current SRP funding opportunities. The webinar archive is now available on the CLU-IN webpage (http://www.clu-in.org/conf/tio/srpfunding/)  .

Additional information is available on the SRP Funding Opportunities web page
