Improving the Diversity of the Research Workforce
Superfund Research
Funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has provided the ability for SRP grantees to hire additional researchers. The diversity of the research workforce was improved by hiring researchers from groups that have been underrepresented in the past.
- Vanessa De La Rosa is investigating the relationship between genes, Superfund chemicals, and adverse health outcomes.
- Dr. Sharon Krueger is focusing on the carcinogenicity of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the offspring of mice exposed to these chemicals.
