Jennifer Collins, M.R., joined the Susceptibility and Population Health Branch (SPHB) in 2008. She serves as the program analyst for several programs in the division including the Breast Cancer & the Environment Research Program (http://www.niehs.nih.gov/research/supported/dert/sphb/programs/breast-cancer/index.cfm) (http://www.niehs.nih.govhttp://edit:9992/Rhythmyx/assembler/render?sys_authtype=0&sys_variantid=567&sys_revision=9&sys_contentid=11739&sys_context=0) Program and the Centers for Children's Environmental Health & Disease Prevention Research (http://www.niehs.nih.gov/research/supported/dert/sphb/programs/prevention/index.cfm) (http://www.niehs.nih.govhttp://edit:9992/Rhythmyx/assembler/render?sys_authtype=0&sys_variantid=567&sys_revision=24&sys_contentid=17651&sys_context=0). In addition, she coordinates the activities related to the Interagency Breast Cancer & Environmental Research Coordinating Committee (http://www.niehs.nih.gov/about/boards/ibcercc/index.cfm) (http://www.niehs.nih.govhttp://edit:9992/Rhythmyx/assembler/render?sys_authtype=0&sys_variantid=567&sys_revision=98&sys_contentid=6574&sys_context=0) . Jennifer served as the program analyst for the Exposure Biology Program of the Genes, Environment, and Health Initiative and she continues to participate in trans-NIH efforts focused on Gene-Environment interaction research.
Prior to joining the Division of Extramural Research and Training, Collins spent 10 years in the Division of Intramural Research at NIEHS, primarily in the Microarray Core facility. As a biologist in this group, she was responsible for coordinating the collaborations between the core facility and intramural researchers and for conducting the initial analyses of all gene expression data generated in the lab. Collins has a B.S. in biological sciences (2000) and a M.R. in functional genomics (2006) from North Carolina State University.
