American Chemical Society Public Policy Fellowships
The American Chemical Society Public Policy Fellowships provide a unique opportunity for ACS members to gain practical experience and insights into public policy by working on Capitol Hill or at ACS in Washington, D.C. Fellows may be entry-level Ph.D.s or experienced professionals from academia, industry, or nonprofits. Former fellows have covered issues as diverse as federal funding for scientific research, science education, and health policy. CDC Collegiate Leaders in Environmental Health

CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service
The Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) is a unique two-year post-graduate training program of service and on-the-job learning for health professionals interested in the practice of applied epidemiology. Since 1951, over 3,000 EIS officers have responded to requests for epidemiologic assistance within the United States and throughout the world. EIS officers are on the public health frontlines, conducting epidemiologic investigations, research, and public health surveillance both nationally and internationally. CDC Summer Graduate Environmental Health Internship
This is a paid ten week summer internship available for graduate students with majors or interests deemed to be in support of Environmental Health missions at the National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Diseases Registry (ATSDR). CDC Summer Program in Environmental Health

EPA National Network for Environmental Management Studies Fellowship Program
The purpose of the National Network for Environmental Management Studies (NNEMS) program is to provide students with practical research opportunities and experiences in an EPA office or laboratory; increase public awareness of and involvement in environmental issues; encourage qualified individuals to pursue environmental careers; and help defray the costs associated with the pursuit of academic programs related to the field of environmental protection, such as pollution control, science, engineering, technology, social science, and specialty areas. EPA Office of Research and Development: Postdoctoral Research Program
In FY 1998, EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD) began to enhance its scientific workforce by attracting first rate postdoctoral scientists and engineers into its research program through this new hiring initiative. Over 300 postdoctoral researchers have participated in the program to date. The program offers appointments of up to four years, state-of-the-art facilities, world-class scientific expertise, locations throughout the United States, travel to professional scientific meetings, and active postdoctoral trainee organizations.
