Annette Kirshner, Ph.D. is a Program Administrator in the Cellular Organs and Systems Pathobiology Branch in the Division of Extramural Research and Training. She is the lead representative for neurodevelopmental toxicology other than autism, neurodegeneration including Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s Disease, and was responsible for the development of the Parkinson’s (PD) program which culminated in the establishment of specialized centers in PD. She is also responsible for the bone toxicology portfolio. Kirshner received her doctoral and postdoctoral training at Duke University and before going into administration she did research in protein chemistry as well as neurochemistry
