About COSPB
The Cellular, Organs, and Systems Pathobiology Branch plans, develops, and administers a program of research and training grants, fellowships, contracts, and cooperative agreements that address the pathobiology of environmental diseases/dysfunctions caused or exacerbated by environmental stressors.
- Supports basic, transitional, and clinical research on the site/mechanism of action related to disease;
- Emphasizes mechanism-based research at the cellular, organ and system level to elucidate toxicity related to age and susceptibility;
- Provides management of the NIEHS training and career development programs;
- Provides professional liaison for the scientific review of the above activities;
- Maintains mission-relevant liaison and coordinates activities with federal and non-federal organizations, institutions, associations, societies and scientists.
