December 2017 - As part of the professional introduction and networking session at the 30th Superfund Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, trainees sat at different tables based on their career interests. Each table included SRP alumni who could talk to them about that career field. (Photo courtesy of the Penn SRP Center)

Welcome SRP Students, Postdocs, and Alumni!

The Student/Postdoc/Alumni Network (SPAN) was established to bring together scientists from SRP's unique multi-disciplinary training cores. SPAN was created as an extension of the SRP mission to advance understanding of the human and ecological risks from hazardous substances as well as the development of new environmental technologies for the cleanup of hazardous waste sites.

SPAN is a group of students, postdocs, and alumni who are or were funded by the Superfund Research Program (SRP). SPAN helps its members connect professionally and socially with SRP-funded trainees at other universities, develop and expand their professional network, and stay updated on career and employment opportunities.

The Opportunities for Trainees webpage has information about career advancement, funding and employment opportunities, and grant information.

Get Connected

Want to get involved? Attend the SRP annual meeting to meet up with fellow students and get to know them in the student-only events. SPAN also organizes SRP grantee socials at other meetings, so keep an eye on the mailing list for details.

To share announcements and resources, or to join the SPAN listserv, please contact Danielle Carlin ([email protected]).
