Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) - CDC 

The CDC's Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System monitors modifiable behaviors that have negative health consequences. The information is gathered through telephone surveys and can be displayed by category of behavior, by state, or as a map.

Cancer Mondial 

Statistics on global incidence, mortality and survival of cancer through three databases: Globecan2000, Mortality Database, and ACCIS (childhood cancer).

National Center for Health Statistics 

A program of the CDC, the NCHS is the source for:

    A statistical summary of birth, mortality or other data on hundreds of alphabetically listed topics.

    An annual report highlighting key trends affecting the health of Americans.

  • Vital Health Statistics 

    Compiled from state-level registration systems and providing data on births, deaths, fetal deaths, marriages and divorce.

National Science Foundation 

Good source of statistics on research and development expenditures, facilities and funding; human resource data related to number of science students and PhD graduates; and science and engineering indicators.

World Health Organization Statistics (WHOSIS) 

Guide to epidemiological and statistical information on burden of disease, mortality, etc.
