National Council For Science and the Environment 

National non-profit organization working to improve the scientific basis for decision-making on environmental issues. As a means of communication, the NCSE has created The Encyclopedia of Earth.  This library offers a wealth of science- based information on a wide range of environmental issues, including agriculture, air quality, biodiversity, climate change, energy, marine resources, pesticides and pollution.


Pesticide Action Network North America 

The latest news on pesticides and sustainable agriculture and the PESTIS database  on environmental and health effects of pesticides. PANNA campaigns “to replace pesticide use with ecologically sound alternatives.”


Pew Charitable Trusts - Environment 

A non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to educating the American public on contemporary environmental issues.


Toxins and Disease 

The Collaborative on Health and the Environment Toxicant and Disease Database is a searchable database that summarizes links between chemical contaminants and approximately 180 human diseases or conditions.


United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) 

An advocate of environmental concerns on an international level, UNEP emphasizes relationships between socioeconomic driving forces, environmental changes and impacts on human well-being. The site includes links to the Global Resource Information Database, Earthwatch, UNEP conventions, a publications bookshop and more.


Worldwatch Institute 

Worldwatch conducts inter-disciplinary, non-partisan research on emerging global environmental issues. Find news, publications and Web links on topics such as population issues and biotechnology.
