Environmental exposures and disease flare in adult and juvenile dermatomyositis and polymyositis

Study Design:

Case control, an internet-based survey study

 

Types & Number of IIM Studied:

Adult and Juvenile Dermatomyositis and Polymyositis (N = 400)

 

Entry Criteria:

Patients with Adult and juvenile dermatomyositis and polymyositis or parents of patients with juvenile dermatomyositis and polymyositis who are:

  1. at least 1 year from diagnosis of myositis
  2. at least 2-85 years of age
  3. reside in the United States or Canada
  4. can answer an online survey for 20-30 minutes

 

Primary Outcome:

Examine factors contributing to the disease flare

 

Study Duration:

2 years

Comments:

Actively enrolling. Physicians contributing >= 8 patients will qualify for co-authorship on publications and presentation.
