Welcome to the NIEHS Clinical Research Unit (CRU), and thank you for agreeing to participate in one of our clinical research protocols. Below you will find important information related to the CRU in regard to location, campus access and security, parking, and directions. If you have any questions or concerns related to your upcoming visit, please call the NIEHS CRU admissions desk at 919-541-9899.
Location
The CRU is located on the NIEHS main campus at 111 T.W. Alexander Drive, 27709 Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA. All CRU patients and visitors are required to enter NIEHS via the main campus entrance located at 111 T.W. Alexander Drive.
Security
Upon arrival at our campus you will be greeted by security at the main gate. You, along with any escorts and guests you may have with you, will be asked to present a photo ID (driver's license or one of the following: company ID, government ID, or university ID) to the security personnel on duty. Please be aware that federal law prohibits the following items on federal property: firearms, explosives, archery equipment, dangerous weapons, knives with blades over 2 1/2 inches, alcoholic beverages and open containers of alcohol.
Parking
After clearing the security booth at the main entrance, please follow the road to the traffic circle. Follow the traffic circle around to the left onto Lakeview Drive. Proceed on Lakeview Drive, passing Journal Lane, Research Lane, and Nobel Lane — all on your right. Immediately following Nobel Lane, turn right onto North Park Lane and into Parking Lot F. The CRU is located along the left side of Parking Lot F. Directional signs will be located along Lakeview Drive to assist you.
CRU patient and visitor parking spaces are located across from the building in clearly marked spaces within Parking Lot F. After parking, please enter the facility and present yourself to security. They will finalize your campus registration process and present you with a parking permit and a visitor's badge for your visit that day. Please place the parking permit in the dashboard of your vehicle where it can clearly be seen by campus security, and then proceed to check in with the clinical admissions desk.
Your NIEHS CRU visitor's badge must be clearly visible at all times. It will grant you access to the CRU and the cafeteria located in the main building.
