The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is inviting new applications for cooperative agreements through its Worker Education and Training Program (WETP) for a five year competitive segment (2005-2009). NIEHS is proposing applications to support the development of model programs for the training and education of workers engaged in activities related to hazardous materials and waste generation, removal, containment, transportation and emergency response.
The two Requests for Applications (RFA) have grown out of NIEHS interagency partnerships with the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Superfund Program for hazardous waste remediation and the Department of Energy's (DOE) Environmental Management Program for the cleanup of the nuclear weapons complex.
